Belgrade is under attack by violence again! Early this morning, a man named V.R. (30) was admitted to the Emergency Center with a stab wound to his arm. Although he is in stable condition and not life-threatening, this incident sheds new light on the increasing violence in the capital. V.R., who has been detained by police several times before, claims he was stabbed in the Belgrade neighborhood of Zvezdara, but police found no evidence of the incident there. Police have interviewed the woman who brought him to the hospital, and the prosecutor’s office has been notified and ordered to collect all evidence.
This case is not isolated. Violence in Belgrade and Serbia is becoming a daily occurrence. General Luković has clearly stated that the police will not allow violence on the streets, but is that enough? Protests have weakened, but violence continues. Paid extremists, it is said, want Serbian blood to be spilled, and society often fails to recognize the seriousness of the problem.
While authorities struggle with this issue, ordinary people remain forgotten on the edge of existence, living in basic conditions, while violence and crime grow. How much longer must we wait for change? Police are ready for upcoming gatherings, but will that really bring peace?
This case and many others show that violence in Serbia is not just an individual problem but a systemic one that demands urgent attention and solutions. While investigations are pending, citizens wonder – who’s next? And as this unfolds, maybe it’s time for all of us to think about how to stop this bloody streak. What do you think? Is violence in Belgrade just the tip of the iceberg or something that will forever be part of our daily lives? Drop a comment, maybe your word will spark the change!
