Belgrade has been held hostage for months by blockaders who terrorized citizens, closed major roads, and created chaos on the streets. But finally, the state decided to put an end to this madness! Early this morning, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the gendarmerie and heavy off-road vehicles Hummer, launched an operation to remove all blockades choking the city. Traffic is now free, and the police acted professionally, detaining several individuals for attacks and insults. Although one police vehicle was damaged, the state showed it has the strength to protect its citizens and the law.
Why did the state wait so long? For months, blockaders harassed people, caused traffic jams, and provoked violence, and Saturday was the day they officially gave the green light to violence against police and dissenters. Blockades were set up at key locations like Slavija Square, Branko’s Bridge, Gazela, and King Alexander Boulevard, preventing normal life and movement.
President Aleksandar Vučić announced that the state is ready for the violence blockaders planned, and the police responded quickly and decisively. Opposition leaders linked to the blockades, such as Dragan Đilas and Marinika Tepić, were seen before the protests, further complicating the political situation. Ana Brnabić stated that this is the end of the blockaders’ terror and that Serbia will not allow its life and order to be disturbed.
This situation reminds us of the dark days of October 5th, but now the state has shown it will not allow history to repeat itself. Still, caution is necessary as conflicts still threaten. The call for peace and civic harmony is clear, but tensions remain high. Will this be the end of the blockades or just a pause in the chaos? Only time will tell.
If you thought this was the end, think again! This drama in Belgrade is far from over, and we will follow every move. What do you think? Has the state finally done its job, or is this just the beginning of a new phase of conflict? Drop a comment, let your voice be heard!
