A horrific traffic accident occurred on the road between the villages of Ororik and Banovci near the Šid border crossing in Croatia! Two trucks collided and caught fire, resulting in the death of one person, suspected to be a Serbian citizen. Police and emergency services responded quickly, but traffic on this section of the road is currently completely blocked.
According to initial unofficial information, the deceased man was from Kupinovo. The collision of the two trucks caused a fire on both vehicles, with thick smoke visible in footage posted by the Instagram page 192_rs. The accident site is on road D46, and police officers are redirecting traffic to avoid further complications.
This tragedy highlights the dangers on the roads, especially for heavy vehicles that often carry large loads and require skilled driving. The summer months bring additional challenges due to high temperatures and increased traffic, which can raise the risk of accidents.
As the investigation continues, questions remain about the safety on these critical road sections and how seriously prevention of such tragedies is taken. Will the authorities finally take measures to reduce such incidents, or will we continue to see people losing their lives on the roads?
