Student Arrests in Serbia: State Kidnaps Youth, Rule of Law Crumbles!

Something straight out of a bad movie is happening in Serbia, but sadly, it’s real life. Students have been arrested on charges of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, and their parents have no clue where their kids are! Lawyer Rastko Naumov, who’s helping the families, says the police refuse to disclose the students’ whereabouts and are raiding their apartments like hardened criminals. Is this kidnapping or just another day in Serbia’s so-called rule of law?

While the government acts like it’s above the law, students and citizens across Serbia are starting to block roads in protest. It all kicked off after a huge, peaceful student protest in Belgrade, which the authorities decided to punish with arrests. Eight students were detained, with the public prosecutor claiming they planned to overthrow the constitutional order.

But wait, there’s more! The students are calling on the opposition to boycott parliament and join their fight against what they call an illegitimate regime that’s besieging their rights and freedoms. They want elections and pressure on the government, sending a clear message: “Stand with us or shut up forever!”

This whole mess raises a serious question: where has the rule of law gone in Serbia? Is this the beginning of the end for democracy? Or just another scandal that will be quickly forgotten? If you’ve got thoughts, now’s the time to share them — because if not you, then who? And hey, feel free to crack a joke about the government, because sometimes laughter is all we’ve got left.
