Drama in Serbia: Students Arrested for Plotting Violent Overthrow of Government!
Serbia is witnessing a political soap opera starring none other than – students! Yes, you read that right. The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that eight students have been arrested on suspicion of planning violent actions against state institutions.
Who are the arrested and what did they plan?
The arrested students come from various cities: Zaječar, Smederevo, Kragujevac, Belgrade, Sombor, and Niš. They are suspected of meeting on June 20 and 21 at the premises of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, where they allegedly planned attacks on state institutions, road blockades, and raids on construction sites, including the Expo site. Their goal? A violent overthrow of the state order!
Elections as an excuse for violence
At one meeting, according to the prosecutor’s office, it was confirmed that the ultimatum to hold elections was just an excuse to apply violence. Even if elections were held in August, these students reportedly believed they would not win and planned to change the government by force.
What’s next?
Three individuals have been detained for attacking an official, while criminal and misdemeanor charges have been filed against three others. The operation of arrests and investigations continues, with suspects held for 48 hours before interrogation.
What does this mean for Serbia?
Is this just the tip of the iceberg of youth dissatisfaction or a serious attempt to overthrow the system? Are the students really ready to resort to violence, or is this an overreaction by the authorities?
This story is far from over, and we will follow it to the end. What do you think? Are these students heroes or hooligans? Drop your thoughts and keep the conversation alive!
