All Universities in Serbia Resume Classes: Are Students Ready for the Chaos?

Dear students and everyone else, brace yourselves because starting today, all universities in Serbia are resuming classes! Yes, you read that right – after a long break, the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade and many others have finally decided to bring back full-scale teaching. The largest student organization SKONUS officially announced on Instagram that all students should follow their faculty websites and electronic indexes to stay updated on teaching and exam processes. But is it really that simple?

Just imagine – thousands of students are returning to classrooms, and many are still unsure how everything will unfold. Will there be enough space? How will safety measures be enforced? And, of course, will the teaching be of good quality or will it all descend into chaos again? While students wrestle with these questions, hilarious comments and jokes are already circulating on social media. One says: “Kids will say ‘I won’t go to school, I’ll become a prostitute!’” – which is, let’s admit, hilarious but also a bit sad.

But teaching isn’t the only hot topic today. While faculties struggle to organize, other issues affecting us all are happening in the background – from fear of hornet stings, through economic troubles, to grim statistics about motorbike riders who have died. All this creates a chaotic atmosphere where students try to find their place.

And while authorities try to keep everything under control, it’s clear this is just the start of a turbulent year for education in Serbia. Will students manage to adapt? Will faculties maintain teaching quality? Or will we see chaos and dissatisfaction again? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – this is not the end of the story, but just the beginning of a new drama at Serbian universities.

So, dear readers, what do you think about all this? Are you ready to return to school desks or is this already too much? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or just laugh at the student struggles – because, let’s face it, we all love a good drama!
