Taxi Driver from Hell on the Montenegrin Coast!
Have you ever heard of a taxi driver holding a knife to a tourist’s throat over 30 euros? No? Well, now you have! In Petrovac, on the Montenegrin coast, a 19-year-old taxi driver from Bijelo Polje decided to terrorize a Russian tourist and rob him in the most brutal way possible. All over a ride that was previously agreed upon for just 30 euros!
Knife, Threat, and Escape
It happened early in the morning on June 29. The young man pressed a knife to the throat of the unfortunate Russian tourist and demanded money. The tourist, fearing for his life, handed over the cash, after which the taxi driver fled. But the Montenegrin police were quick – they located and arrested him fast. The prosecutor ordered his detention.
Not Alone – Five People Arrested!
This case is not isolated. At the same time, in Budva, Danish nationals, including a minor, were arrested for motorcycle theft. They stole the bikes during the night, but the motorcycles were later found in a garage. The police are determined to increase efforts to protect tourists and citizens during the busy summer season.
Montenegrin Police on High Alert
Budva police say they will not allow criminals to ruin the summer season. With thousands of tourists from all over the world, safety is a top priority. But is this just the tip of the iceberg?
Why Is This Happening?
Is this due to poor control or just an isolated incident? The young man from Bijelo Polje clearly decided to make money in the worst possible way. But what about the system that allows this?
Conclusion
The Montenegrin coast is known for its beautiful beaches and hospitality, but incidents like this cast a shadow on its reputation. The police are doing their job, but is it enough?
