Tonight around 8:10 PM on Narodnih Heroja Street in New Belgrade, yet another shocking assassination attempt took place. The target was Nenad Alajbegović, known as Alibeg, a former leader of Partizan fans, who was hit by two bullets while sitting in his car. This marks the tenth time Alajbegović has been targeted by gunfire, and none of the attacks have been solved so far.
In an exclusive hospital interview, Alajbegović revealed he has no ties to fan conflicts, clans, or criminal activities, and hasn’t attended football matches for ten years. Yet, mysterious attacks against him continue, and he himself doesn’t know who is behind them.
During the shooting, Alajbegović was hit in the rib, with one bullet lodged inside. Despite severe pain and bleeding, he managed to stop a bus and a taxi that took him to the emergency center. Police are intensively working to identify and catch the attackers, but so far without success.
This situation casts a serious shadow over safety in Belgrade and raises questions about the effectiveness of police investigations and the security of public figures. How is it possible that ten attacks remain unsolved? Is it inefficiency, witness fear, or something much darker?
As Belgrade shakes from these shootings, citizens wonder – how many more lives must be endangered before serious action is taken? While Alajbegović recovers, we are left with the question: who is next on the target list?
