Chaos at Thompson’s Concert in Zagreb: Police on High Alert, Traffic Nightmare, and Security Alarms

Tonight in Zagreb, a spectacle is about to break all records – a concert by Marko Perković Thompson at the Hippodrome is expected to draw a staggering half a million people! Yes, you read that right, 500,000 people! The city of Zagreb and the police are on full alert because an event of this scale has never been seen, not even in the wildest dreams. A detailed traffic plan is in place, and from 9 PM, a complete traffic lockdown will begin in key parts of the city – Dubrovnik Avenue, Adriatic Bridge, Youth Bridge, and Vukovar streets will be under strict control. Thousands of traffic signs and safety barriers are being set up as if it’s a war zone, and citizens are warned not to leave vehicles on the streets as they will be mercilessly towed, especially if they block emergency services.

Security experts are sounding the alarm – this is an unprecedented event! Tonći Prodan, a security expert, warns of natural and man-made risks: heatstroke, health issues, possible diversions, and even fires. Around 1,400 police officers and other personnel will be deployed on site conducting thorough checks at the entrance. Large bags and potentially dangerous items are banned; only transparent backpacks and small bags will be allowed and inspected. Mobile phones? Use SMS because the network will likely be overloaded due to the massive crowd.

For those not attending the concert, the city has arranged increased duty shifts at health centers over the weekend, and citizens are urged to follow information on official websites. The most important thing – carry your ID and don’t call emergency services if you’re not near the Hippodrome or Bundek, as the number of calls will be huge, and emergency services must remain free for real emergencies.

This concert is not just a musical event but a massive logistical and security operation that will test the limits of the city and police. Will everything go smoothly, or are we in for total chaos? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – Zagreb won’t sleep tonight; it will breathe to the rhythm of Thompson! What do you think, will this be the concert of the year or a disaster to remember? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s in and who’s out on this spectacle!
