Tijana Bogićević, a well-known singer from Novi Sad, has opened up about one of the hardest things in her life – losing her mother. Although she spent several years in America for love, her hometown has always been special to her. However, the Petrovaradin Fortress, a place full of memories, now only brings her sadness. “I feel like I’m going to cry every time I think about her,” Tijana admits, recalling how her mother had a shop right in the fortress. Going there now is almost impossible for her because the pain is too great.
But it’s not all sadness – Tijana also remembers the good times from her childhood, when she had a famous neighbor and colleague, Nataša Bekvalac. They went to elementary school together, and although Nataša was always more popular, Tijana cherishes those memories with a smile.
This emotional confession shows how deeply memories and loss are connected, and the Petrovaradin Fortress, a symbol of Novi Sad, is now a place that stirs the hardest emotions for Tijana. Her story is a reminder that behind the shine of public figures often lie tough life stories that few see.
If you’ve ever felt that memories of your hometown hurt, or have a similar story, feel free to share – maybe together we can bear the hard moments a little easier.
