Tonči Huljić and Amira Medunjanin: Life in a Hurry or the Sevdalinka That Breaks Borders

When Tonči Huljić and Amira Medunjanin join forces, music will never be the same! Their duet “Život ode nabrzaka” (Life in a Hurry) is not just a song, but an explosion of emotions and a cultural fusion that will leave you breathless. Tonči, known for his authorial project Tonči Madre Badessa, brings a Mediterranean spirit and unique humor, while Amira, the queen of sevdalinka, adds depth and authenticity only she can provide.

The song was created through the joint work of Tonči Huljić, his wife Vjekoslava Huljić who wrote the lyrics, Lea Škare on arrangement, and Antonio Vrbički on accordion. The accordion plays a special role, giving the song an expressive emotional tone perfectly blended with the voices of Tonči and Amira.

Interestingly, the song was originally intended as a solo performance by Tonči Huljić, but a part of the lyrics and melody reminded him of Amira Medunjanin, so they decided to make it a duet. Tonči said they are not chasing hits, but he believes this song will become big and lasting.

The music video for “Život ode nabrzaka” was filmed in Sarajevo and Split, directed by Anis Mujanović and produced by Hayat production. This unusual blend of musical styles and cities further sparked public interest.

If you thought you’ve heard it all, wait until you hear this blend of Mediterranean and sevdalinka spirit that will make you wonder why you didn’t know earlier how powerful and emotional music can be. Tonči and Amira proved that borders between genres and cultures exist only in our minds.
