Belgrade turned into a chaos zone overnight! Three traffic accidents involving children – yes, you read that right – three kids ended up injured, thankfully only with minor wounds. Emergency teams rushed to the scene and transported them to the Institute for Mother and Child Health Care in Serbia. But is this just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to traffic safety problems in our capital?
During the night, emergency crews responded to 26 calls in public places, with most calls coming from chronic patients. Is the situation on Belgrade’s streets spiraling out of control? Traffic accidents involving children are always shocking and remind us how crucial it is to follow the rules and stay alert.
But traffic isn’t the only problem. At the same time, social media and the pandemic have trapped people in anxiety, and street violence shows no signs of stopping. Every day brings new threats and conflicts, while authorities seem powerless. How do we protect the youngest and most vulnerable? Will anything change, or will we keep counting the injured?
While experts warn about dangers and suggest solutions, the reality is that Belgrade is battling a host of issues – from traffic accidents to violence and health challenges. Maybe it’s time for all of us to stop and ask – what are we doing wrong? Or will we keep turning a blind eye as children get hurt?
