Rescuers in Japan are attempting to extract a truck driver from a sinkhole that is expanding on a road in the city of Yashio, Saitama Prefecture. The sinkhole, caused by a burst sewer pipe, swallowed the truck. Rescue operations are further complicated by additional road collapses, and 200 households have been evacuated. There is also a gas pipeline inside the sinkhole, increasing the risk of leaks. Road cracks are common due to outdated infrastructure.
