Is this the end of the hell in Gaza or just another pause in the endless war? Former US President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell: Israel has allegedly agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza! Yes, you read that right – two months of silence in one of the hottest conflicts in the world. Trump posted on social media that his representatives had a “long and productive meeting” with Israeli officials, though he did not reveal who these mysterious envoys were. Reportedly, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President J. D. Vance were to meet with Ron Dermer, senior advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
What’s at stake? A 60-day ceasefire during which Israel will cooperate with all parties to end the war. Representatives from Qatar and Egypt will deliver the final proposal to Hamas, and Trump hopes the Palestinian group will accept the agreement. “It won’t get better, it will only get worse if they don’t accept,” he warned.
But wait – Hamas has so far refused to lay down arms, insisting the war can only end if Israel stops its repression. The war began on October 7 when Hamas launched a deadly attack on Israel, taking hostages. Since then, Israel has closed all entrances to Gaza, causing hunger and displacement of the entire population. More than 56 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes, and the world has condemned Israel’s military campaign.
Is this really a chance for peace or just another political game? Trump promised to be “very tough” with Netanyahu in negotiations. A White House meeting is scheduled for Monday, and the world is holding its breath.
If you thought the war in Gaza was over, think again. This is just another round in the endless game of power, blood, and negotiations. What do you think? Will Hamas accept this proposal or keep fighting? Drop a comment and let your voice be heard in this chaos!
