Plav Man Arrested for Smuggling 53 Kilograms of Marijuana and Illegal Weapons in Montenegro!
Ready for a story that sounds like an action movie script? In Montenegro, the police made a huge bust – a man from Plav was arrested on suspicion of smuggling a whopping 53 kilograms of marijuana! But that’s not all – the operation also seized an automatic rifle, pistols, ammunition, three vehicles, and a large quantity of excise goods. Yes, you read that right, this is not just ordinary drugs, this is a full-blown criminal arsenal!
Massive Raids and Arrests
Police raided 14 locations across several cities including Kolašin, Bijelo Polje, Plav, and Petnjica. The targets were suspects linked to an organized crime group. In Kolašin, an automatic Heckler & Koch rifle and 13 rounds of ammunition were found, while in Bijelo Polje pistols and 78 rounds of ammunition without proper documentation were seized. In Plav, S.K. (20) and H.P. (31) were arrested, with one still at large, on suspicion of unauthorized production and trafficking of drugs.
How Did the Drugs Get Into Montenegro?
According to police information, the drugs were smuggled from Albania into Montenegro, and on February 20th, 53 kilograms of marijuana were found at the Grnčar border crossing. Berane police then searched family homes and retail outlets in Petnjica, where large quantities of excise goods were found – cigarettes with Kosovo excise stamps and cans of energy drinks intended for the Kosovo market.
Criminal Charges and Ongoing Investigations
Six individuals will face criminal charges for various offenses – from drug smuggling, illegal possession of weapons, to illegal trade. Police also seized vehicles suspected of having manipulated chassis numbers, adding complexity to the case.
What Does This Mean for Montenegro?
This operation shows that organized crime is no joke and is ready to use every possible method to expand its activities – from drug smuggling to illegal weapons and excise goods. Will the police be able to stop these criminal groups, or will the situation only worsen? One thing is certain – citizens deserve to know what’s happening in their towns and that such things don’t happen behind their backs.
Illegal Weapons and Excise Goods – Just the Tip of the Iceberg
The seized automatic rifle, gas pistols, hunting rifles, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition without papers are not just statistics – they are potential bombs that can threaten the safety of us all. And excise goods with Kosovo stamps? That’s another sign that everything is traded on the black market, and the state is losing control.
Conclusion: Police Are Working, But Is It Enough?
Arrests and seizures are an important step, but is it enough to stop the wave of crime? Will the judicial system be effective in prosecuting these cases? And most importantly – what can we as citizens do to help fight crime?
