At 5:15 AM this morning on the main road in Novi Pazar, a real traffic drama unfolded. An unregistered Suzuki motorcycle carrying three people crashed into a parked Mercedes. The motorcycle driver, I.D. (38), was driving at an inappropriate speed with nearly completely worn-out tires, which caused him to lose control and crash. Alongside him on the motorcycle were his friend S.I. (36) and his wife A.H. (33). The impact was so strong that the driver ended up under the car, while his friend fell several meters away in shock. The wife tried to pull him out from under the vehicle as bystanders called emergency services.
Quick intervention by the emergency team saved the injured. I.D. and his wife suffered minor injuries, while S.I. sustained more serious injuries but is not in life-threatening condition. After the investigation, the police confiscated the motorcycle and will file criminal charges against the driver for multiple offenses. All injured were tested for alcohol and psychoactive substances, with results pending.
Citizens are outraged by such irresponsible behavior on the roads, especially during summer months when such incidents are becoming more frequent. There is a call for stricter control of motorcyclists and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent tragedies like this.
