Vidovdan Blockades: Chaos, Violence, and Shifting Blame

Get ready for chaos on Vidovdan! The blockaders are planning violence and an attack on the state, while the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, seems to be turning a blind eye. Students are controlling the blockades and protests, yet professors and the rector are shifting the blame onto them, avoiding facing reality. Serbia’s economy is already suffering huge losses – just closing the Gazela bridge costs the state 6 million euros daily, and blockades of bridges and other key traffic points further destroy everything that has been achieved. Political philosopher Dragoljub Kojčić calls the blockaders an amateur political guerrilla with no ideas or program, resorting to violence, threats, and slander. Although a minority, their radicalization and extremist threats disturb Serbian citizens. Political analyst Branko Radun believes this is an attempt to revive protests that have already weakened, using provocations and deliberately leaking information to create tension. Behind it all are various interests and divisions within the blockaders themselves, while the government fails to pacify the situation. All this is happening as Vidovdan approaches, which the blockaders see as their last chance to shake the government and impose their demands. If you think this is just another protest, think again – this is a war for Serbia’s future, and the price we pay is huge. So, what do you think about all this? Are the blockades justified or just destructive chaos? Drop a comment, let your voice be heard!
