The Sarajevo Assassination – The Spark of World War I

Vidovdan remained significant in recent history. For example, on June 28, 1989, Slobodan Milošević gave his famous speech at Gazimestan on the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo. Exactly 12 years later, on the same date, Milošević was handed over to the Hague Tribunal, an event with strong political impact.
