Imagine this – from June 30 to July 5, Vojislava Ilića street, one of Belgrade’s main traffic arteries, turns into a complete traffic jungle! Why? Because trolleybus lines 19, 22, and 29 are temporarily suspended, and traffic is rerouted to bus line 22a1 running from Slavija Square to Ruševačka. Yes, you read that right – the trolleys are on a break, and you better brace yourself for chaos and crowds!
During the works, the right lane of Vojislava Ilića will be closed, and the left lane will serve two-way traffic. Intersections with Ustanička and Misirbijeva streets will be especially affected. As if that’s not enough, the Šumice bus stop for lines 20, 29a, and 29n heading towards the city will be temporarily closed.
This means everyone relying on these lines will have to plan their trips ahead to avoid inevitable delays and headaches. The Public Transport Secretariat urges citizens to follow announcements and stay informed about changes.
Is this just another example of how Belgrade fails to organize public transport during roadworks? Will city authorities ever realize that such changes cause chaos and frustration among passengers?
If you thought this was the end, think again! This situation is just the tip of the iceberg of public transport problems in Belgrade. And you, dear readers, what do you think about these changes?
