This morning in Serbia, a whopping 3,681 people took part in blockades, but Miloš Vučević, president of the Serbian Progressive Party, isn’t giving them an inch. “They’re stealing other people’s right to move, physically attacking, and then running away at lightning speed!” Vučević told TV Pink, making it crystal clear that the blockade action was a total flop.
Vučević didn’t hold back, calling the blockaders “losers” who harass citizens and threaten the country’s peace and order. “When blockaders attack the police, they’re actually attacking Serbia! The police’s job is to protect public order and peace, which is why they took an oath,” he added.
According to him, the police legitimately identified the blockade participants, rounding them up like a pack and sending a clear message: “Order must be maintained!” Vučević sarcastically asked what it would be like if “losers ran the country” and what they would do besides “deal with dumpsters.”
The blockades took place in Belgrade, Novi Sad, and some other cities, where students and citizens tried to express their dissatisfaction. However, Vučević believes their action failed and only bothered ordinary people who want to live normally.
This situation raises the question: are blockades really an effective way to express dissatisfaction, or just unnecessary harassment of citizens? Vučević is clear — blockades are not a success, but a problem that needs solving. What do you think? Are blockades justified or just a nuisance?
