Just when you thought you’ve seen it all in construction, Aleksandar Vučić proves you wrong! Today marks the grand opening of the toughest section of the E763 “Miloš Veliki” highway between Pakovraće and Požega, stretching 19.56 kilometers. Vučić proudly declared this the hardest stretch Serbia has ever built – and he’s not joking! Workers faced challenges no one had seen before, and the paving was so demanding that Vučić said no one can erase this from memory.
This highway isn’t just any road – it’s a symbol of Serbia’s progress. Vučić highlighted that Serbia has built more highways and expressways in the past few years than in the previous 70 years combined! Yes, you read that right – seven decades!
The section between Čačak and Požega cost a staggering 400 million dollars, but Vučić isn’t backing down – he plans to keep building and working despite all obstacles. Plus, on July 15th, citizens will be able to drive this part of the highway for free, giving everyone another reason to celebrate.
The opening ceremony included representatives from the Chinese company CRBC, which carried out the works, along with numerous officials and media. The project features 35 bridges totaling over 5 kilometers in length, four overpasses, tunnels, and grade-separated intersections, making this highway a true engineering feat.
This section is part of the larger “Miloš Veliki” highway project connecting Surčin and Preljina, now extended to Požega. Vučić also announced the start of negotiations for new sections linking Arilje, Ivanjica, Sjenica, and Novi Pazar, meaning Serbia’s infrastructure development is far from over.
If you thought this was just another highway, think again. This is a story of persistence, challenges, and massive investments in Serbia’s future. Vučić made it clear – we keep building, no matter what!
So, have you driven on the new highway yet? Or are you waiting to see if everything really ends up as promised? Share your thoughts, because stories like this aren’t just for watching – they’re for talking about!
