Vučić Opens New Pakovraće Požega Highway Section: Serbia Builds the Future, Not Just Roads!

Serbia on the Highway Throne: Vučić Opens Pakovraće-Požega Section and Boasts Infrastructure Boom!

Today at noon, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will officially open a new section of the E763 “Miloš Veliki” highway between Pakovraće and Požega, nearly 20 kilometers long. This is not just another road – it’s a symbol of Serbia’s strength and development!

The Longest Road Tunnels in Serbia

This section features the two longest road tunnels in Serbia – Laz and Munjino Brdo – a technical feat proving Serbia does not back down even in the face of the toughest geographical challenges. Vučić highlighted that building the highway through the Jelica and Ovčar-Jelica mountains was a real struggle, but thanks to Chinese partners and the persistence of Serbian workers, the project was completed.

Infrastructure Boom: More Kilometers of Highways Built in 12 Years Than in the Previous 67

Vučić proudly stated that in 12 years of governance, more kilometers of highways have been built than in the previous 67 years combined! Yes, you read that right – 12 years versus 67! Serbia has become a country of modern, safe, and fast roads, and this section is just the beginning of even bigger infrastructure projects.

Bridges, Overpasses, and Interchanges to Ease Traffic

The section includes 35 bridges totaling over 5 kilometers in length, four overpasses, and three traffic interchanges that will relieve the existing bypass around Čačak. This shows the attention to detail and functionality of the road.

E763 – A Vital Regional Link

The E763 highway connects Belgrade with the Southern Adriatic, and in a broader plan, will improve connectivity between Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, and Italy. This is more than a road – it’s an economic and geopolitical bridge putting Serbia on the important European map.

Chinese Partners and Multi-Million Euro Contracts

The main contractor is the Chinese company China Communications Construction Company (CRBC), with the contract value for the Preljina-Požega section around 450 million euros. This cooperation shows how open Serbia is to international investments and ready to use the best technologies.

Vučić: “We Won’t Stop, Building Serbia for the Future”

The president stated that Serbia will continue building highways despite criticism and skeptics. “This is not the end, but the beginning of something new,” Vučić said, announcing new projects that will connect even more Serbian cities and regions.

Why Does This Matter?

This section is not just asphalt and concrete – it’s a symbol of progress, safety, and a better future for Serbian citizens. With modern highways, travel becomes faster and safer, and the economy gains new momentum.

Is Serbia on the Right Track?

While Vučić celebrates infrastructure successes, the question remains – will these projects truly bring long-term benefits to citizens or are they just political marketing? Can Serbia maintain this pace of development, and will investments in roads translate into real prosperity?

Your Thoughts?

What do you think about this infrastructure boom? Are highways really the key to development or just another way to show power? If you’ve already driven on the new sections, share your impressions – is the drive really faster and safer? Or is it just another story for the public? Drop a comment, let the voice of the people be heard!

This is the story of Serbia that doesn’t stop, a country building bridges and tunnels, but also a country wondering – where is the end of this road? Vučić and highways – love or politics? You decide!
