Chaos on Vidovdan? Vučić Predicts Violence, State Ready to Crack Down on Blockaders!
Vidovdan, a major Serbian holiday, might be marked not only by celebrations but also by violence this year! Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić openly warned that tonight, between 8:45 PM and 9:45 PM, violence could erupt in Belgrade during blockader protests. And that’s not all – Vučić declared that the state will not allow its peace and stability to be threatened.
“There will be violence, I cannot avoid this fact,” Vučić said, adding that the state is prepared to defend itself and bring the perpetrators to justice. He appealed to the blockaders not to do anything foolish that they will regret for life. “The state will be defended,” the president emphasized.
Vučić also reminded of the damage caused to Serbia by blockades and protests, especially on March 15, when, according to him, much harm was done to the country. He stressed that the blockaders will not be made happy by their attempts to destabilize the state, as Serbia does not want to return to the past but looks to the future.
Meanwhile, in Kruševac, a central state ceremony was held on Vidovdan, where Prime Minister Đuro Macut called for unity and peace, emphasizing the importance of preserving national identity and unity. Macut warned of external influences aiming to divide the people and tarnish Serbia’s reputation.
As protests and potential violence loom in Belgrade, the authorities send a clear message: Serbia is strong and will not allow its stability to be compromised. Police have already detained 77 people during previous riots, and 48 officers were injured. Vučić stated that the state will do everything to maintain peace and protect its citizens.
This situation casts a shadow over Vidovdan, a day traditionally dedicated to remembering Kosovo heroes and the fight for freedom. Instead of celebration, many will witness clashes and tensions that threaten to escalate.
Will violence really break out? Will the state’s resolve stop the blockaders? Or will Serbia face another wave of chaos on Vidovdan? Share your thoughts – is Vučić’s warning just political theater or a real threat?
Either way, tonight will be hot – not just because of summer, but because of the tensions building on Belgrade’s streets. Follow, comment, and remember – history is written not only on the streets but also in people’s minds.
