Vueling Launches Direct Tivat Barcelona Flight: Montenegro Tourism Gets a Major Boost!

Ready for a tourism revolution in Montenegro? Spanish low-cost giant Vueling has just launched a direct flight between Tivat and Barcelona — three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting October 25! This isn’t just another flight; it’s a bridge between the Mediterranean and the Adriatic, bringing two cultures closer and allowing locals to reach the vibrant city of Barcelona in a snap. Vueling’s Head of Network Strategy, Jordi Pla, called this flight an “exciting milestone” for the company. And Tivat Airport? It’s connected to Spain with a regular seasonal route for the first time, a huge leap for Montenegrin tourism.

But wait, there’s more! This route is part of a broader strategy connecting Montenegro to over 50 destinations across Europe, thanks to the IAG consortium, which includes Iberia, British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Level. Passengers from Montenegro can now check their luggage in Tivat and pick it up as far away as Buenos Aires or London! That’s a true global connection.

Airport Director Roko Tolić and Tivat Mayor Željko Komnenović emphasize that this opens doors to new markets and will help position Montenegro as a top tourist destination. The Tivat Tourist Organization, led by Nina Lakičević, highlights that flights will extend the season, especially in September and October, when the climate is still pleasant but flight numbers usually drop.

And don’t forget — Israeli airlines have resumed flights on the Tivat-Tel Aviv route, further confirming the growing importance of Montenegro’s airports.
