Tomislav Kabić, the former acting director of the club, is now under fire after coach Danijel Jusup accused him of physical assault and threats. Yes, you read that right – the club director allegedly attacked the coach in the club’s own premises! It all started when the Supervisory Board voted no confidence in Kabić, which only fueled the fire of the conflict.
Jusup claims the meeting with Kabić was short but so tense that his physical integrity was at risk. “As I was leaving the office, Kabić ran towards me, put his hands behind his back, and headbutted me!” says the coach, while Kabić responds that communication between them was broken and that he was just telling the truth, which made him the enemy of the city of Zadar.
But that’s not all! Kabić claims the club is full of double standards and that he is fighting a rotten system that destroys sport and children. He asks: “What kind of city have we become where someone can be above the club?” Parents and everyone who worked with the children confirm that Kabić did good work for Zadar’s kids, but apparently, that was too much for some powerful people.
This conflict is not just a story of personal tensions but a deep-rooted problem in sports institutions that should nurture young talents, not suffocate them. Will KK Zadar manage to get out of this mess, or will children continue to be victims of rotten systems and political games?
