Waterless Hell in Belgrade: Who’s to Blame for the Thirst and Chaos?

Belgraders, brace yourselves for a waterless hell! On Friday, July 4th, from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, residents of Čukarica, specifically the even sides of Požeška, Kneza Višeslava, and Paštrovićeva streets, will be left high and dry due to planned water network works. To make matters worse, Zvezdara will suffer an emergency water outage on Varovnička street from 8 AM to 10 PM the same day. Sure, water trucks will be provided for essential needs, but who wants to drink water from a truck? This isn’t just a simple outage; it’s a glaring sign that our water infrastructure is in catastrophic shape! While Belgrade bakes at +40°C, the authorities serve us dry taps and planned shortages. Is this some new form of torture? Does anyone even care about the citizens? As we choke on thirst, eggs fry on the asphalt, and swimming spots overflow with people fleeing the scorching heat. Is this normal in the 21st century? The city is introducing draconian fines for wasting water but can’t guarantee the basic service – water from the tap! Think this is the end? Think again. Even hotter days and worse shortages are coming. So, dear readers, what do you think about this water chaos? Is it time to rise up or just stay silent and wait for the next drought? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or just send a meme about dry taps – because this is Belgrade, and here water is a luxury!
