Watermelon Diet: Miracle Weight Loss Trick or Dangerous Trap?

Imagine losing 5 kilograms in just 15 days by eating watermelon! Yes, you read that right. This watermelon diet promises quick weight loss, but is it really that simple and safe? Nutritionist Mirna Trumbetaš warns that although watermelon is low in calories and high in water content, it has a high glycemic index, which can cause blood sugar spikes. The diet consists of two phases: the first is restrictive and lasts 9 to 13 days, while the second lasts 6 to 10 days and includes other foods, with watermelon eaten as a snack. While watermelon contains only about 30 calories per 100 grams and is rich in vitamins C, A, B1, B6, potassium, and magnesium, experts warn of a possible yo-yo effect and advise not to overdo it by cutting out other foods. After the diet, it is recommended to replace juices with plain water with watermelon to maintain weight loss. So, is this diet just another trend or can it really help? Think twice before diving into the watermelon diet adventure!
