Public transportation in Belgrade became free of charge starting January 1st, and replacements of trolleybuses with electric vehicles have been announced. Mayor Aleksandar Šapić announced five new developments in the capital, including plans to reform the fleet, where no vehicle will be older than two years by the end of 2025. Belgrade is now the largest European city with free public transport for all citizens, as confirmed by the European Commission.
