Woman fined $2,500 for getting too close to orcas.

A woman from British Columbia was fined $2,500 for approaching a pod of killer whales on a paddleboard near Vancouver Island. The incident was recorded on video and shared on social media. Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans stated that the orcas were visible and attracted a large number of observers. Kristi Jamison was found guilty for not adhering to the law requiring a minimum distance of 200 meters from the whales.
