The Mount Lyell shrew, a small species from the Sierra Nevada, was finally photographed by three young researchers from California after a two-hour search. Although this species has been known for nearly 100 years, it had never before been captured on camera. Researchers Vishal Subramanian, Prakrit Jain, and Harper Forbes embarked on a three-day expedition and set traps to achieve their goal.
