Last night in Zadar’s Brodarica neighborhood, a family of four was trapped inside a burning house, choking on thick smoke, while police officers didn’t hesitate to jump into the fire and save them! Yes, you read that right – police officers, not firefighters, were the first on the scene and immediately launched a rescue operation. Dario Kruneš, Matija Režan, Filip Tokić, and Bruno Pedić didn’t flinch entering the smoke-filled house. They soaked towels in water to protect their airways and started evacuating the family. The four-member family, including children, was trapped on the second floor with no way out. The officers guided them down the smoke-filled staircase using flashlights and wet towels, rescuing them before firefighters arrived. One officer even sought medical help due to smoke inhalation, but all heroes remained unharmed. The fire was later determined to have started due to an electrical fault in the house’s sanitary facilities. The material damage is still unknown, but thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
