Zlatibor is ready for a summer to remember! The Gold Gondola, the longest panoramic gondola in the world, officially opened its season last night, showcasing what visitors can expect. From ceramic workshops and authentic clothing making to a diverse gastronomy that will blow your taste buds away! Head chef Nemanja Vukašinović wowed the crowd with a dish made from local buckwheat pasta, Zlatibor’s own kajmak, and three fantastic toppings: beef prosciutto chips with chives, porcini mushrooms, and lemon balm with raspberries — all local specialties! There were also balls of homemade cheeses, sticks wrapped in prosciutto and bacon, and fresh fruits like blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, melon, and watermelon, all served with locally produced wine.
Gold Gondola’s director, Bojana Božanić, emphasizes that the inspiration for this project comes from rich heritage, tradition, and harmony with nature. They follow modern trends but never forget their roots. Every day of the season brings special activities: Mondays feature a bazaar of old crafts, Tuesdays are for orienteering and cycling, Wednesdays offer creative workshops for kids, Thursdays focus on art and creativity, and Fridays are all about gastronomy. Everything is designed to connect the present and future, nature and urban life.
Architect Snežana Vesić from Belgrade reveals that the main design inspiration was the dark blue Ribničko Lake, whose color comes from the blue stone at its bottom. This natural landscape and old crafts are combined into the unique technological line of the Gold Gondola.
If you thought this was just another gondola, think again! This is a full sensory adventure and a chance to enjoy authentic Zlatibor. Got a favorite dish or activity idea?
