Zoran Pusić Targeted with Death Threats: Who Are the ‘Bleiburg Avengers’ and Why Is the State Silent?

Zoran Pusić Targeted with Death Threats: Anti-Fascist Fighter Under Neonazi Fire!

Zoran Pusić, president of the Anti-Fascist League of the Republic of Croatia and a respected human rights activist, has been receiving chilling death threats for weeks. Yes, you read that right – death threats! And not from just anyone, but from a group calling themselves the “Bleiburg Avengers” and using the Ustaša salute “Dom spremni”.

Who is Zoran Pusić?

Pusić is not just a retired professor from Zagreb. He is the founder of the Civic Committee for Human Rights, known for his fight against fascism and intolerance. In May this year, he was brutally attacked in broad daylight at Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb, where two men shouted insults and threats like “Fuck your mother, Chetnik, you will be the first to be slaughtered!”.

Threats that send chills down your spine

The latest threats arrived on July 11 in the form of anonymous letters filled with hate speech, lies, and personal details. The letters falsely claim that Pusić is planning a sabotage against a concert by Marko Perković Thompson at the Hippodrome. All this has been reported to the police, but the question remains – what is the state doing to protect this brave man?

Marko Perković Thompson’s concert – the trigger for hate

The threats escalated just before the concert of Marko Perković, known for his controversial Ustaša symbols and songs. Pusić had already called on Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in February not to invite Thompson to the handball team’s welcome event, stating that Thompson is a symbol of Ustašism, especially among the youth.

The state on trial

The Anti-Fascist League calls on all institutions, including the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic, and the Croatian Parliament, to ensure Pusić’s safety and protection. Because if the state does not respond to such threats, what does that say about its willingness to fight fascism and hate?

Conclusion

This is not just a story about one man and his threats. It is an alarm for the whole society! While neo-Nazis and Ustaša nostalgics freely threaten and spread hate, the state and institutions must stand against this evil. Or will we all be next in line?

What do you think? Is the state doing enough, or is this all just a show? Drop a comment, let’s hear the voice of reason and courage!
