Živica narrowly escaped death at unlit and unprotected railway crossing in Zrenjanin

Who still drives over a railway crossing without lights and barriers in the 21st century?! Živica Jankov from Elemir had the luck of a lifetime when on Saturday evening, driving slowly, he narrowly escaped being hit by a train at a completely unlit and unprotected railway crossing in Zrenjanin! Yes, you read that right – no lights, no barriers, just a dark train appearing like a ghost! Train drivers blow their horns and warn, but apparently, that’s not enough in 2024. Elemir residents, how many more lives must be lost before something is done? The crossing is overgrown with bushes, and next to it stands a World War II bunker – as if time stood still! Živica has been driving carefully for almost half a century but says it’s impossible to see a train at an unlit crossing. Are we going to wait for a tragedy or finally demand barriers and lights? Comment below – is this a disgrace to our infrastructure or just another day in Serbia?
