Zvezda and Tadić: Will the Legendary Footballer Return to Serbia?
Red Star Belgrade is not giving up on Dušan Tadić, despite his father recently stating that his son will continue his career abroad and not in Serbian football. Mitar Mrkela, Red Star’s sporting director, said on Arena Sport that the chances of Tadić’s return are still 50:50.
Mrkela emphasized that Red Star offers not only financial terms but everything the club can provide for the continuation of Tadić’s career and his future after it. Tadić is a big name in Serbian football, the record holder for the most appearances for the national team, and despite his age, he maintains his fitness and can still play at a high level.
In the last two seasons, Tadić played for Fenerbahçe, where his stats in goals and assists have not declined. Mrkela believes Tadić could contribute a lot to Red Star on the pitch, as well as in the locker room and among the fans.
Tadić recently left Fenerbahçe after two years and retired from the Serbian national team after the European Championship in Germany.
